  1. A soldier at the end of his training takws an oath to safeguard the motherland. He protects the Indian citizen and not agroup of persons belonging to a caste, community, group or religion. In his unit, there is a Sarva Dharm Sthal. He prays there as Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian- according to the religion of troops and day of festival, as per age old tradition.
It would be a grave mistake and disservice to nation to alter this situarion . Wwe cannot gave a Pakistan or Seria created here..
Let fauj be fauj of Bharar. Do not tinker with their system, belief and tradition.

  2. The moment you vote it leads to political alignment. Many Armed Forces personnel’s both soldiers and officers vote. We have to differentiate between militias and political awareness. This understanding has not to be taken in isolation. We as citizens of India have a legitimate right to vote for political party who we think will look after our interest. Using democratic means of voting are better than forcing decisions through barrel of gun. What about political parties not fulfilling their poll promises to veterans/ armed forces? Do we continue the bearing the down gradation? Somewhere if the line is crossed Armed forces should let the political bosses know enough is enough even if it means use of barrel power.

  3. Politicisation of the Army has already begun. It will now not stop because of vested interest of the politicians and bureaucrats. Rather, it is the degradation of the Defence Services which will be the bane of coming troubles. Wait for another 15-20 years and it will be this army which will come to haunt the ruling class.

  4. The government is playing with fire. The politics shall ruin the Armed forces. Tinkering with appointments is equally damaging. What deep selection when a person has reached the Army Commanders rank. The person has gone through5 selection boards and appraised by approximately40 different people and to reach there and you want deep selection. It shall lead to politicisation of higher ranks and shall be equally disastrous.
