Can’t Ensure Cheaper Oil Sales To India, Says US Commerce Secretary

US sanctions barred Asian buyers, including India, from importing oil from Iran

New Delhi: The US government will not ensure sale of its oil to India at cheaper rates as the commodity is controlled by private companies, US commerce secretary Wilbur Ross said today.

Mr Ross is in India to participate in a trade forum.

  1. India must take a strong stand against U.S. embargo. We have a right as a sovereign country to protect our interest. We must continue importing oil from Iran, a good neighbour, friend and cheap source of oil
